Still Pregnant...

Every pregnant lady's dream is to be able to get a photo of them STILL pregnant after their due date. Here I am living the dream:

Look at that basketball or watermelon or 9 lb?? baby!

Yesterday was spent digging holes out at Sara's house, getting her ground prepped for gardening. I also jumped on the tramp and ran around the yard. This morning we even hiked up a small mountain behind our house. All to no avail...I'm still pregnant. I've gained 30 lbs. I'm 45" around. I've given up hope that this little guy will ever come out. Sawyer spoiled me by coming 6 days early, so although I tried not to expect this little one to come early, I still kind of did. Plus my midwife told me on the 19th that I was dilated to a 2+ and 80% effaced and she'd be really surprised if I made it another week. Well surprise! Make it another week I did. AND some. AND at my appointment on the 26th I had the exact same stats as the week before. No progress. Ugh! Darn expectations will get you every time. I've been having contractions, some so strong that I've thrown up. Obviously this little guy is following the Kerr (my mom's side) family motto 'Late but in Earnest'. But as uncomfortable as all of this is towards the end, I much prefer this than morning sickness! Anyway just wanted to let everyone know I'm still pregnant...no cute photos to post of our little guy...who may not be too little if he stays cooking much longer!

Out on our hike this morning...at least it's a beautiful day!

Liz, I was the same way with Jared. The long wait is a killer. Nathan was 9 days early, and finally I just had my midwife break my water, so Jared would come. I was 90% and dilated to a
5, and my midwife kept saying he should come any day. After she broke my water, I had him 4 hours later. I am not a patient person. Good luck with the delivery and everything else. I will be thinking and praying for you.

Your mom's a Kerr? That's totally the Carr family motto! Turns out they have the same origin. And we've used that motto in our family (mostly to tease it). Amazing. We're probably long-lost cousins! Except that my family comes from England, not Scotland, but really, if you go back SUPER far, I'm sure we're cousins. Also, both of my babies were a week late. Must be a family thing. :)

I was totally wondering if you had delivered the little bundle and were in newborn bliss and no time for blogging. I am glad you are all healthy and hiking! Good luck speeding things up!

I am sorry... Waiting is no fun! But at least you may get a little more sleep now than when he pops out! Good luck with your delivery when he comes. :)
