Happy 100th Birthday Zion!

To celebrate Zion's century of existance I've rounded up a few people to run a 10k with me right through her. The recruites so far: George, Sara, Kate, Brett, and Shena. It's gonna be great and I think anyone who reads this should join in on the fun run :) Click here if you wanna check it out. It's on Saturday, April 18th and costs $25 to enter. C'mon that's only 6.2 miles and you don't have to run the whole thing if you don't want to. You'll get to look at the beautiful sheer red rock cliffs and won't even notice you're working out! It's the perfect time of year in Zion...do it!!!

C-eh N-eh D-eh!

It's true...our friends up north really say "eh" in all their daily conversations. And there are a few other "funny" pronunciations, like 'aboot' is 'about'. I never thought George had an accent, but it definitely came out on this trip!

Many of you know, I married a hunky Canadian, so this past week we crossed the border and headed to British Columbia. I got to meet George's brother, Jody, and his fiance, Alison, for the first time. They were great company and we enjoyed working on their house (well I might have only put in 30 minutes total) BUT we got in some good visiting, walks with the dog, games (I learned how to play crib), a campfire, some snowmobiling, and even some fishin'. Alison is a great cook and kept us well fed, thank you! Their house is nestled in a great spot, where you can walk out their back door and be on the "crown's land" and go hiking right up the mountain. It's beautiful country with fresh air and lots of trees. There were elk everywhere and there are mountains in every direction. The temps were nice to us while we were there, never dipping below zero, but I definitely want to go back up and visit during the summer!

Jody and George have a lot of things in common: they look alike, are hard workers, drive the same (to my dismay), like to blow up things, are good at what they put their minds to, and chose some amazing girls ;) It was great for them to catch up...it'd been over 3 years. Alison and I got a good laugh at them just "being boys".

Sobe bombs! The picture says it all.

George & Jody - looking too innocent...just after a snowmobile ride.

George also loaded up on all the good Canadian stuff that you can't get down in the states. Here are a few of the items: ketchup chips (gross!), macaroons (nothing like the home-made ones here), after 8 bars, kinder eggs, nanaimo bar mix, and poutine (we didn't actually get this b/c we forgot, but next time for sure)! Oh yes, and the best drugs for a cold/sinus headache...it's called Neo Citran.

Thank you Jody and Alison for building a house so we could come visit...it was great to meet you! Hopefully we weren't too distracting from all the house building. It was good to get-away...too short, but hopefully we can get back up there soon!

Shoosting

It was another sunny Saturday (I love southern UT!) so George took me "shoosting" out behind the farm. We had lotsa fun as we exploded old apples. George had a perfect round, and me well; George said I'm better than a lot of guys :) I've become a little more educated regarding guns since I've been around George. Let's see...we shot the 17 (my personal favorite), a 20 gauge, and a 22. I like shoosting!

I promise I was not pulling a Charlie's Angel pose!
