Where are We?

Canada one day, Utah the next. Some might be confused what we are doing, or where we are living. We're confused some of the time too, so that's ok! Sawyer and I are back in Cedar until the baby comes (turns out it's better for us to have the baby in the states since I'm not a Canadian citizen or resident). George still works up in BC and will be commuting down to see us when he can. We've had him here for ten days and are loving every second of it! He's also worked a ton of overtime so he can come down for good starting the second week in March so he'll be here for the delivery. Also Canada has some pretty amazing paternity leave, so he'll get to stay here after the baby comes for at least a couple months, maybe more. That's about as far out in the future that we have planned. Anyway, that's another BIG reason I hope this next month FLIES by...I can't wait to be together full time as a family, and have this new babe in my arms.

Out for a stroll in the chariot. We were able to afford this awesome stroller (triples as a bike trailer and ski trailer) because George's work offers a health and wellness bonus where you HAVE to spend money on things that promote health. Awesome! Sawyer is sitting in it like a king, but there should be room for little brother once he arrives.

Sawyer, 15-months-old, in his new chair.

Sawyer has been looking so grown up to me lately. It might be his haircut, I'm not sure. Last night he spent his first night in a big boy bed (twin mattress on the floor). It went pretty well. He slipped off the mattress once, but after some rearranging things went smoothly. At his normal wake up time he just stayed in bed and sang and talked to himself until I went and got him. Nap time might be a different story though. It seems a little early to transition to a big boy bed for him, but he's learned to climb out of his crib. Luckily I was there to catch him before he fell on his head. Anyway, we figure it's good timing to do it now before his little brother makes his debut and changes his world.

I love this photo of my boys. This is last hour of church today. Sawyer NEVER falls asleep in people's laps. Papa is the only one on rare occasions that has the privilege of a snuggly sleepy Sawyer. We miss papa already, and he hasn't even left yet!

A Night Away

George and I had our first night away without Sawyer. Crazy to think that it's been 15 months since that has happened! This was one of the only pictures we took the whole time. We were too busy having fun :) We left Sawyer with Aunt Sara. Kaden was SO excited to have his cousin spend the night. According to Sara he did great. She said she'd forgotten how busy a 1-year-old can be...you look away and he's standing on the kitchen table sort of thing :) I did good (didn't even send a text to Sara until the next morning!), but missed the little man immensely! Thanks for watching him Sarita!

We decided to go to Vegas because it's sunny and warm and you can get a nice room for fairly cheap. We also had to make some purchases in a 'big city'. It was a wonderfully relaxing time. We didn't do anything extraordinary, but our first stop was PF Chang's for The Great Wall of Chocolate (even before dinner!)...and the trip just got better from then on :) Glad we had the opportunity to do this before we have two boys to take care of! It was SO nice to spend time with my man...I love that guy so much!

8 more weeks...

Or less hopefully! I'm 32 weeks along. It's exciting to be in the single digit countdown. We're very excited for March to get here, and not because I'm turning 30 :) It seems like this little guy is even more active than Sawyer was. I've never had to count his kicks because he's always moving around letting me know things are great inside. I'm grateful all of the doctor appointments are boring because that means everything is looking good. Not sure if we're ready for two kidlets (sounds so responsible!), but at the same time we can't wait to meet this little guy!

All in a day's work

We've been blessed with 'warmer' weather for the past month. It's still cold and snowy, but not in the negative temps so we can actually stay outside for more than ten minutes without a meltdown. We headed over to Jody and Alison's to play in the snow. It's so nice to have a cousin close in age for Sawyer to play with!

George made snow thrones for the boys on either side of our Shriner Snowman

Calan relaxing after sliding/sledding.

No Fear! Sitting at the top of the slide papa built.

Sawyer's snowsuit doubles as a sled.

Alison captured this great shot of our happy Sawyer :)

Curling

Sawyer and I got to watch George curl with the local curling club last Tuesday night. I don't know a thing about curling, but it cracked Sawyer and me up to see all these grown men sweeping the ice ferociously. It was fun to experience some Canadian culture. George was a star of course :)

Look at that form!

George and his teammate are sweeping the ice to help the stone get a little farther and hopefully to the right spot. Sawyer and I would laugh and laugh when we'd see them sweeping ferociously.

Here is a good shot of the curling sheet.
